Worcester Wolves Basketball Development
Worcester Wolves Basketball development programme has been designed to help players realise their potential by providing the guidance needed to play in the National League. As such it provides real opportunities for ambitious young players who wish to obtain further qualifications and work place skills.
Development players follow a three/four year degree course at UoW and whenever possible join the College Basketball Club for the British University matches. Any development contract renewal is subject to successful completion of the Performance Review. Worcester Wolves act as the sole arbiters of the basketball performance review process.
You should be able to demonstrate outstanding basketball potential with the determination to succeed both on and off the court.

In return you can expect: a bursary towards expenses a place in UoW accommodation sports science support services and injury treatment the opportunity to participate in Worcester Basketball player development scheme extensive training facilities full participation in the degree programme at UoW
Successful applicants who reach the desired university academic entry standard are offered: a place on a course of their choice, subject to normal entry requirements a place in College accommodation (subject to following application procedures) University of Worcester and Worcester Wolves support the British Universities Sports Association (BUSA) Championships and players are encouraged to make a commitment to participate in university basketball. Subject to academic commitments students are integrated in the Wolves' full player development scheme. Ultimately, this may lead to representing the club at senior level and representing UoW and BUSA.
The scheme makes significant demands on participants. You will need to combine the personal discipline and effective time management needed for study with the demands of training. Your academic and sports performance will be reviewed on an annual basis. You will be placed on a comprehensive closely supervised development programme and represent Worcester Wolves, a highly successful and ambitious national league side with excellent facilities.
About the University of Worcester The University of Worcester lies in the heart of the UK - just five minutes from the beautiful and lively riverside city of Worcester, with the Wolves' home court on campus. The single site campus offers a wealth of facilities - a brand new £3 million sports centre with international standard sports hall, state-of-the-art fitness suite, playing fields, all weather pitches, sports performance centre - all this in addition to a first class learning resources centre, IT facilities, Students' Union, shop, halls of residence and lecture rooms.
You can choose from a wide variety of subjects to study and design your programme to suit your and aspirations with the undergraduate modular scheme.
About the University of Worcester Basketball Club
The Club has been extremely successful being BUSA Champions for the last 3 consecutive years and twice in the final four of the World inter University Games. Opposition includes well respected universities with the opportunity to play against some of the best young players in the country.
The Club runs two teams playing at BUSA level. There are good playing facilities with regular coaching sessions overseen by a former National League and Senior Coach
